Another Year, Another Harry Potter: Movies in Theaters the Week of November 15th

Alyssa’s Pick of the Week: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows—Part 1

Adventure/Fantasy starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. Opening November 19th. Harry, Ron, and Hermione set out on a perilous mission to track down the secret to Voldemort’s destruction—the Horcruxes. – Rated PG-13

Having read the book, I am curious to see what director David Yates and screenwriter Steve Kloves plan is in developing the movie into two parts in a coherent and relevant way. The Harry Potter franchise has had a magical grasp on audiences for over a decade! Let’s see Twilight have that kind of power! I’m hoping that with these two final films, they will go out with a bang and make these the most entertaining. The only problem I see is that Harry, Ron, and Hermione don’t have the comfort of Hogwarts and it’s mysteriousness to help the story along. Most of the time, the films were aided by such fun things like talking pictures, quidditch matches, and secret chambers. All of that is absent while the kids are on the run from that evil Voldemort. Still, no other franchise has lasted this long and has been so successful…
