Box Office Report: ‘The Expendables 2′ is Number One For Second Week in a Row
This weekend at the box office, all other wide releases couldn’t beat last weekend’s top spot holder, The Expendables. This weekend, it took number one again earning $13.5 million. This raised its domestic total to $52.3 million.
All of the wide releases seemed to be over shadowed by 2016: Obama’s America which expanded from limited to nationwide release and took in $6.2 million to finish at number eight.
Premium Rush, starring Joseph Gordon Levitt, opened in seventh place, earning $6.3 million.
The other wide release, Hit and Run, starring Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, opened in number ten, earning $4.7 million.
As far as the rest of the top five goes… The Bourne Legacy took second with $9.3 million. ParaNorman came in third with $8.5 million. In fourth was The Campaign with $7.4 million. And rounding out the top five was The Dark Knight Rises with $7.1 million.
Overall, it was a pretty slow week at theaters. What did you see this weekend… if anything?
