Gangster Squad, a true story detailing the take down of Los Angeles most notorious criminal, Mickey Cohen, has gotten a serious makeover with serious gun power.

Ryan Gosling, star of Driven, has returned to the screen ensuring that justice is served. In this film, he’s a cop by the name of Sgt. Jerry Wooters, one of LAPD’s finest. LA’s most notorious criminal, Mickey Cohen is played by Sean Penn, and his love interest is played by Emma Stone, star of Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Among the actors to star in this gangster film is actors Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie, Tommy Lee Jones, and Josh Brolin. Jay Z will also appear in the trailer for the upcoming film.

Gangster Squad is set to debut in theaters September 7th.
