Lionsgate TV has made a deal with showrunner Bruce Helford (creator of “The Drew Carey Show”) to bring Charlie Sheen back to television. Helford will write and executive produce a new series called “Anger Management”, which will be based off the Adam Sandler/Jack Nicholson film of the same name. Sheen will star as an updated version of Nicholson’s character from the film. Helford has already proven his prowess with showrunning, having led Drew Care’s and George Lopez’s sitcoms, was just one of many veteran showrunners Sheen met with, and the one who connected most with Sheen.

With Sheen’s legal problems with Warner Bros tv following his firing from “Two and a Half Men” near settlement, and the popularity off Comedy Central’s “Roast of Charlie Sheen,” Lionsgate hopes to start looking for potential buyers for the series within the next week.
