That Jaime’s Horror Fest 2012: Calling All Scary Movie Fans
Gather round horror fans…It’s that time of year when slashers, werewolves, zombies and other monsters rule. For 31 nights, it’s all horror all the time with That Jaime’s Horror Fest 2012. The brainchild of writer, editor and director Jaime Burchhardt, That Jaime’s Horror Fest 2012 is a nationwide scary movie Tweet party whose mission is simple: Watch your fave films, have fun and win a few prizes.
When asked what inspired the fest, Burchardt responded “I’m a fan of every single movie genre, but there’s just something about horror that brings out this level of joy that other genres can’t really compete with. I think horror fans could agree with that.”
Kicking off October 1 with a DVD/Blue-ray screening of Joss Whedon’s and Drew Goddard’s 2012 hit, The Cabin in the Woods, the fest really delves into all kinds of horror films that run the gamut from classic to new theatrical releases. Burchardt says “I wanted to do half new, half classics with a few underrated gems thrown in. You have no idea how excited I am to include movies like Kill List, V/H/S” The fest will conclude with the John Carpenter classic, Halloween, on October 31.
In addition to being a horror film fan’s dream, That Jaime’s Horror Fest 2012 will also appeal to the trivia master inside as participants attempt to answer questions Jaime will tweet out on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the fest. When asked to describe the level difficulty for the trivia, he says “It’s going to definitely be a mixed bag. Will they be closely related to the movie, or loosely related? Will I just throw darts at a random question? You won’t know unless you following the live tweet.” Horror fans can join the fun by signing on to Twitter and using the hashtag #TJHF2012. Prizes include movie posters and Amazon gift cards with special giveaways on the nights of October 5th and 31st.
