Savannah Guthrie seems happy enough now that she has joined the Today show with Matt Lauer, but may be a tad bit embarrassed,People reported.

On Monday morning, Guthrie went through a “hazing-like induction.” She watched in horror as thousands of fans viewed pages from a childhood book detailing the life of an aspiring cheerleader. There was also a video clip of Guthrie playing the guitar and singing Bob Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go.”

Although Guthrie was embarrassed, she told People “I’m thankful and excited for the future.” She also enjoyed a heartwarming welcome her family, colleagues, and friends.

Guthrie’s recent promotion as co-host came after Ann Curry left the show on June 28.
