Jane’s Addiction Returns with a Bang
After 8 years of silence, Jane’s Addiction has finally returned with new music. On April 7, 2011, Jane’s Addiction released a new single through their website, free of charge. This release marks a promise to fans that a new album is coming, and coming soon. The projected release date for the new album, The Great Escape Artist, is in August of 2011. The album will be produced through Capital Records.
Jane’s Addiction has been producing music since 1985. It was during this year that the band formed and began to play music together across venues in Los Angeles. After that time, Jane’s Addiction altered the alternative music scene in such a way that it would be redefined forever. Alternative music had grown into an industry of formulaic design and Jane’s Addiction refused to comply. They broke rules. They destroyed the rules. And then they remade the rules from their success. And now, after 25 years, they have returned to stir up the music scene once again.

The free single, ‘End to the Lies,’ is a follow-up to an extremely successful career. Jane’s Addiction has sold over 7 million records in the US alone. Band members Perry Farrell (singer), Dave Navarro (guitarist) and Stephen Perkins (drummer) want to be sure this new album stays true to the overall integrity of Jane’s Addiction, but guarantee it will be a fresh new sound. ‘End to the Lies’ is a rock-heavy sound with striking, yet airy, vocals. The dark, murky melody grooves with the deep, pulsating bass. ‘End to the Lies’ is definitely a unique and invigorating musical piece. Head over to the website and check out the free single and be on the lookout for The Great Escape Artist this upcoming August.
