Red Hot Chili Peppers Return

Rain Dance Maggie

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are back. With a new guitarist, “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” marks the first single off their forthcoming album I’m With You. The single, which was released online July 18th, sounds similar to the band’s famous “Dani California.”

Anthony Kiedis sings, “Hey no/ you’ve got to make it rain somehow.” Former touring guitarist who has permanently replaced John Frusciante, Josh Klinghoffer fits perfectly with the track. His screeching riffs contrast Flea’s bass line and the cowbells at the end of the song make it a great listen.

I’m With You, which is due out August 30th, is the long awaited album since the band’s 2006 double CD Stadium Arcadium which has sold 2.3 million copies. Producer Rick Rubin commends the addition of Klinhoffer saying that, “it sounds like the Red Hot Chili Peppers that you’ve never heard before.”

The release of the music video for “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” is still up in the air, but it is rumored that Kreayshawn, the female rapper of “Gucci Gucci,” is set to direct it.
