Stephen Colbert and Jack White Join Forces

"The Colbert Report" Salutes The Troops

Late night talk show host and comedian, Stephen Colbert, who recently spoke at Northwestern University’s Commencement Ceremony, urging the graduates to ‘be great, no pressure,’ has just joined Jack White’s Third Man Records roster. The independent label is based in Nashville and specializes in limited edition vinyl releases.

The Colbert Report had a weeklong celebration, “Colbchella ‘011,” featuring Jack White and his label. Colbert performed his new single, “Charlene II (I’m Right Behind You),” with The Black Belles on June 23rd, Third Man Records recording artists. Colbert announced that fans could get the new single, a followup to the fictional 1980s anthem “Charlene (I’m Right Behind You),” on iTunes or from

“Colbchella ‘011,” sponsored by Dr. Pepper, was kicked off by Bon Iver. Colbert introduced Bon Iver saying, “My guest Bon Iver has a new album out called Bon Iver, or maybe I have that backwards.” Performing “Calgary” on-air, fans can go to for an exclusive, live rendition bonus track “Skinny Love.” The week-long celebration that will “rock you like a thirst-a-cane,” will also feature Florence & The Machine, Jack White, and Talib Kweli.
