NBA 2K12 Scores Big on the Xbox 360
2K Sports has an outstanding basketball game on their hands. Combining some of the most influential historic teams and players with the latest graphics and game play make for a great NBA 2K12 experience. Featuring realistic depictions of players in the NBA, a variety of game modes, developed and robust soundtrack, and online features, NBA 2K12 highlights what a great sports game can be on a console.
A few nagging gripes with the game actually occurred at the start, when the game required filling out a variety of forms and information to register online. After that, I was introduced to a slightly confusing, but overall great, game interface. From the main screen, gamers can create their own player, start a quick match, play one of the “retro†games with their favorite old-school players, and start a season with Association mode.
Association mode highlights the depth of NBA 2K12, giving you a wealth of options. Gamers can choose the length of the season, how they handle pre-season and drafting, in-game substitutions, and so much more. The game really lets basketball fans decide how they want to play the game so that it can be fun and unique.
Most impressive is the game play itself. Each game looks like a television broadcast, highlighting a polished court, realistic stadiums, engaged sidelines, and accurate physics. The game breaks into small cut scenes that add to the realistic televised basketball experience, including graphics, schedules of other games, and player stats.
NBA 2K12 holds up once again this year with accurate depictions of televised, enjoyable basketball. Whether you drain jumpers with Larry Bird or get physical under the rim with Dennis Rodman, NBA 2K12 is a great edition to the franchise.
We also have a review of this game for the Wii and there is only one day left for the NBA 2K12 contest – check them out!
