Xbox Update – May 1st

As we begin a new month and start what should be an interesting summer in gaming, there are a few deals and stories you might have missed:

FIFA ’12 UEFA EURO 2012 DLC – Most soccer fans have played through a season or two of their favorite teams and are looking to keep things fresh on the pitch. EA Sports has released the UEFA EURO 2012 downloadable content, which is available on Xbox Live, and features great soccer action. Highlighting the tournament are the European countries fighting to claim the top spot against some of the best competition in the world. The DLC also includes an online feature to be crowned the UEFA EURO 2012 Champion, as well as relive moments from the tournament in the form of challenges for experience points. The fast paced action and stunning graphics are highlighted in the launch trailer below:

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier includes “Gunsmith”- After a few delays, gamers are getting ready for the launch of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier later this month. Tom Clancy’s reign on shooters continues with the outstanding graphics and game play usually offered in the Ghost Recon series. Ubisoft recently announced the “Gunsmith” portion of the game, which will provide players with the ability to customize every part of their gun for use in the game. “Gunsmith” will have Kinect support, allow for over 20 million gun combinations, and also be accessible via your mobile device to change them when you are away from the game. This should give you no excuse to tackle any portion of any level that the developers can throw at you. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be available May 22nd, and is currently available for pre-order. You can check out how “Gunsmith” works with a brief mission walkthrough below:

Bloodforge – Now available for download via Xbox Live Arcade, Bloodforge takes cues from some familiar hack and slash games. For 1200 Microsoft Points, gamers can check out the bloody slashing action of Bloodforge, which channels games such as God of War in terms of fighting style. Though the game is far from perfect with issues such as camera angles causing problems, Bloodforge features some great fighting action. Rated for mature gamers, Bloodforge artistically combines rich, darkened landscapes with bright blood and bold action. You can check out the launch trailer below:

Dead Rising 2: Off The Record – Fans of the unique zombie game should enjoy another round of zombie-killing action with the release of Dead Rising 2: Off The Record. Frank West returns to Fortune City to uncover more stories and brings along his camera. Allowing gamers to take photos of the hilarious and horrible pictures of the scenes you uncover. As with the previous Dead Rising games, game play should provide some great zombie action and great game moments. The game is currently available for download on Xbox Live for $19.99. The teaser trailer showing just a little bit of the action is below:
