J Burn is back with his much anticipated follow up to the highly acclaimed Burnt Blue, which will be released everywhere on May 6th. The new album, Randomly Branded, contains 8 original tracks, which interweave their way across multiple music styles and genres, including rock, Americana, shades of Country, Punk and tinges of psychedelia. J Burn is offering the album for pre-sale on April 20th at a discounted rate for fans through his official site.
Recorded with an old school studio vibe, focusing on lyrical content and song creation, the album was designed to build an organic feeling and sound experience. “So many talented people contributed to this effort. From the musicians, to the engineers, right down to the art for the cover (Marq Spusta). I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out,” says Jay Burn.
Recorded at legendary Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir’s TRI Studios in San Rafael, CA, the album uses a list of well know veteran musicians from the San Francisco Bay area, including Jay Lane (Bob Weir’s Rat Dog, Further, Primus & Golden Gate Wingmen), Robin Sylvester (Rat Dog, Ry Cooder & Kate Wolf) and Jason Crosby (Phil Lesh and Friends, Susan Tedeschi & Eric Clapton).
“J Burn’s “Shine” is an uplifting and power-packed song. Upon initial listen, the listener is given an amazing Americana adventure…” – Kyle Jarmon (AXS TV)
