Tora-i (formally known as Tora) has released the incredible live video for her first single of the year “Serial.” The stunning performance displays her vocal prowess and the clear comfort she feels being back on stage. The set’s artistic tuffted backdrop was art-directed by Tyreis Holder, and contrasts Tora-i’s minimalist style; a perfect example of Tora’s creativity and unique vision.

A consistent quality in all of Tora-i’s work to date is her lyrical exploration of powerful emotions, which is communicated beautifully over the acoustic guitar played by Kian Cardenas. Tora-i explains the thought behind the video:

“After releasing my debut project Cavalier in the midst of the pandemic like everyone I haven’t been able to perform. So this was my version of a home performance, but glam.“

A moving track, which touches on a personal tale of self discovery and growth, “Serial” is sure to resonate with all who listen. Born from warmth, the song speaks on the need to accept uncomfortable realities. The single sees the London singer-songwriter working with LA producer Josh Grant, and was mixed by industry heavyweight Dan Parry (Adele, Wizkid, Sam Smith). “Serial” is a track that is equal parts comfortable nostalgia and somber beauty. Tora-i and Grant worked closely on creating the nostalgic sonic landscape that demands multiple listens to be fully comprehended.

Tora’i’s debut EP Cavalier has racked up an impressive 8 million + collective streams on Spotify alone, garnering press support from the likes of i-D, Pigeons & Planes, Dummy Mag, Complex, The Fader and Colors. She was also included in No Signal’s Class of 2020 and kicked off this year as part of Complex UK’s “RnB Artists To Watch in 2021”.

Tora-i has already captivated the UK music scene and has set her sights worldwide.
