Capcom is gearing up for the debut of Exoprimal, an online team-based action game, with a special presentation that unveiled new details about the game. The Exoprimal Showcase, hosted by Director Takuro Hiraoka, offered a preview of what Exofighters can expect when the wargames kick off on July 14, 2023.

The digital event included a glimpse of upcoming seasonal updates, featuring a new mode, Alpha and Beta Exosuit variants, and crossovers with Monster Hunter™ and Street Fighter™ 6, among other highlights. Hiraoka also presented the “Final Mission Selection” feature for the main mode, Dino Survival, which allows players to choose between player-versus-player (PvP), player-versus-environment (PvE), and random matches.

Final Mission Options

Upon Exoprimal’s launch, the Dino Survival mode will incorporate a “Final Mission Selection” feature, providing players with three matchmaking choices: PvP, PvE, and random. In PvP games, two competing Exofighter squads face off at the end of matches, determining the victorious team and the losing team’s fate with the raptors! On the other hand, PvE focuses on speed, with missions typically not involving direct PvP. The first team to complete all objectives is granted survival rights.

For those seeking an element of surprise, a random option is available, offering a small experience bonus. Exofighters can also freely alter their preference settings to add variety to their gameplay.

Post-Launch Roadmap

Capcom plans to support Exoprimal with seasonal content updates that bring significant new features. Today’s showcase offered a sneak peek of what fans can anticipate in the coming months.

Season 1 begins with the game’s launch this Friday and will introduce a new game mode, Savage Gauntlet, two weeks later on July 28, 2023. This co-op experience tasks teams of five players with late-game PvE missions that change weekly and can be replayed for higher rankings and rewards. On August 17, 2023, Exoprimal will release its first major title update, adding 10 Alpha variant Exosuits to the lineup. These alternate designs come with entirely different weapons, offering new ways to enjoy both Dino Survival and Savage Gauntlet.

Season 2, starting in mid-October 2023, will bring the next title update, featuring the highly anticipated Street Fighter 6 collaboration teased last month. Players can also expect other additions, including a new map and Final Mission, along with more rigs and modules.

In January 2024, Season 3 will expand the armory with Beta variant Exosuits. Along with these new armor sets, this update will introduce a new adversary, the Neo Triceratops. A collaboration with the Monster Hunter series is also planned to launch as part of Season 3.
