Warner Bros. Games just dropped a new Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer, featuring Takeda Takahashi, the latest DLC fighter. He’s joining the roster on July 23 for Kombat Pack owners with early access, and will be available to everyone on July 30. Alongside him, Ferra, a new Kameo Fighter who provides support moves during matches, will also be available on July 23 for Kombat Pack owners and as a standalone purchase.

Takeda Takahashi, unlike his cousin Kenshi, embraced the Yakuza lifestyle. Chosen to end Kenshi’s fight against the Yakuza, Takeda was mortally wounded in their battle. Kenshi took him to the Shirai Ryu for help, and even after healing, kept him there to protect him from the Yakuza’s retribution. Initially resistant, Takeda eventually came to admire the Shirai Ryu’s dedication to Earthrealm. He vowed to eradicate Earthrealm’s underworld, though he soon discovered it was a tougher challenge than he imagined. The new video highlights Takeda’s Shirai Ryu-inspired moveset, including serrated whips for pulling and throwing opponents, explosive kunai projectiles for extending combos, and teleportation attacks.

The Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack includes a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage, six playable DLC characters (Omni-Man, Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda Takahashi with early access on July 23), and five DLC Kameo Fighters (Tremor, Khameleon, Janet Cage, Mavado, and Ferra available on July 23). The Kombat Pack is available now as part of the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition or can be purchased separately.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). Rated M for Mature.
