Los Angeles’ Militarie Gun just dropped their new song “Thought You Were Waving” with a playful video directed by Neta Ben Ezra, showing the band in some wild and dangerous scenarios. The track premiered on Zane Lowe’s New Music Daily and is their first new release since their acclaimed debut album, Life Under The Gun, last year. Produced with Zachary Dawes (Lana Del Rey, Sharon van Etten, Bully, Elton John), this song kicks off an exciting new chapter for the band.
Recently, Militarie Gun also released “Gun Under The Gun (MFG)” for WWE 2K24 as Post Malone’s walk-in music. Post Malone even featured their track “Do It Faster” on his WWE 2K24 playlist.
After wrapping up shows in Australia with Hockey Dad, the band is continuing their global tour, including a much-anticipated hometown show in Los Angeles on July 25th, supported by Gouge Away, Heart to Gold, and Human Garbage. They’ll also hit up festivals like Lollapalooza, Project Pabst, Thing Festival, Reading & Leeds, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, and more. A European tour with Lip Critic, Pluto The Racer, Never Yours, Chiefland, daysdaysdays, and Tripsun is on the schedule too. Earlier this year, the band released the mini-documentary Live Under The Sun, featuring performances and reimagined tracks from their EP Life Under The Sun, with guest appearances from Manchester Orchestra, Marisa Dabice of Mannequin Pussy, and Christine Goodwyne of Pool Kids. The documentary offers a glimpse into the growing community around the band and highlights Ian Shelton’s dynamic and unexpected songwriting.
Life Under The Sun showcases stripped-back versions of songs from their debut album Life Under The Gun, putting Ian Shelton’s personal songwriting in the spotlight. The EP includes collaborations with Bully’s Alicia Bognanno, Manchester Orchestra, and Mannequin Pussy, plus a cover of NOFX’s “Whoops I OD’d.”
