Wavves is back with a new single, “Lucky Stars,” a raw, melodic preview of their upcoming album Spun, due out June 27th via Ghost Ramp. This latest track stands out as the only co-written song between frontman Nathan Williams and longtime bandmate Stephen Pope, marking a creative breakthrough years in the making.

“Lucky Stars” finds Wavves revisiting and refining old ideas, finally capturing the balance they were searching for. Williams’ vocals are heavily influenced by the off-kilter style of Butthole Surfers’ Gibby Haynes—spoken yet sung, filtered through a megaphone haze that lends the song a distorted, urgent texture. It’s noisy, nostalgic, and unmistakably Wavves.

The track follows the release of two other singles from Spun: the title track and “Goner,” the latter produced by Travis Barker. “Goner” was accompanied by a video directed by Brandon Dermer, shot live during Wavves’ benefit show for Los Angeles County wildfire relief at Zebulon. Dermer, who also directed the band’s 2013 video for “That’s On Me,” returns with a chaotic, high-energy visual that matches Wavves’ raw aesthetic. Known for working with Blink-182, Dermer brings his signature flair to the collaboration once again.

With Spun, Wavves looks to blend their trademark punk-infused surf rock with new sonic textures and more collaborative songwriting. Longtime fans will appreciate the throwback energy, while newcomers will be drawn in by the record’s refreshed grit and honesty.

In support of Spun, Wavves will kick off a North American headline tour starting June 24th, just days before the album drops. The tour will feature support from San Diego punk trio Beach Goons, with additional appearances from Death Lens and Chokecherry on select dates. Known for their electrifying live shows, Wavves is set to bring the same chaotic energy to stages across the country this summer.

With Spun on the horizon and “Lucky Stars” setting the tone, Wavves is heading into a new era—one that’s both a return to form and a bold step forward.

Spun drops June 27 via Ghost Ramp. Tour begins June 24. Don’t miss it.
