Militarie Gun are back with a powerful new single, “Throw Me Away,” out now alongside a performance video directed by frontman Ian Shelton. The track follows “B A D I D E A” and further teases the band’s upcoming album God Save The Gun, due October 17th via Loma Vista Recordings.
Speaking on the single, Shelton explains: “‘Throw Me Away’ is about the feeling of only being valued when you’re visible or useful… It’s the desire for external validation and also the deep resentment of it.” The song dives into themes of self-doubt, carried by Militarie Gun’s signature mix of high-energy melodies and heavy emotional weight.
To celebrate the record, the band will embark on The BAD IDEA Tour across the U.S. this fall, kicking off October 25th in Palm Springs and wrapping November 22nd in Albuquerque. Fans can also catch them at Riot Fest in Chicago on September 19th.
Militarie Gun have also announced a headline EU/UK run with support from White Reaper and Spite House, beginning January 21st in Porto and closing February 17th in Dublin.
With God Save The Gun, Shelton turns the lens inward, crafting what he calls “an absurdist guide to the intersection of self-destruction and self-belief.” It’s a raw, deeply human follow-up to their acclaimed 2023 debut Life Under The Gun.
