Massachusetts-based indie rock artist Pete Birch continues to grow his following with heartfelt music rooted in honesty. His latest single, “Asleep,” captures the vulnerability fans have come to expect.
“Asleep is about a reoccurring dream I have about my wife,” Birch explains. “It’s what I call a ‘miss you dream,’ where you can’t get in touch with your partner and you wake up so relieved it was just a dream.”
The song adds to a catalog marked by openness, with previous singles exploring themes of loss, anxiety, and Birch’s struggles with alcohol. This transparency has made his work deeply relatable, offering listeners both connection and comfort.
Birch’s journey is far from typical. Two decades ago, he stepped away from a promising music career to focus on family and a simpler life. Settling in a quiet Massachusetts town, he embraced work as a Park Ranger and the outdoors. Yet the artist inside him never faded.
In recent years, Birch built a home studio, channeling long-held creativity into songs that feel both raw and refined. With “Asleep,” he shows that his passion isn’t just a return—it’s a calling that continues to grow.
