New York-born, Los Angeles-based duo Phantogram return with “Earthshaker,” their first release since last fall’s Memory Of A Day. Fresh off a North American tour with Deftones—including a special joint performance of “Cherry Waves”—Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel are gearing up for headline sets at Austin City Limits (ACL) and iii Points Festival.
“While making Earthshaker, we had a lot of fun recreating late-’60s inspired drum breaks and vintage guitar textures,” the band shares. “The result sits somewhere between old soul and Krautrock—familiar yet hypnotic.”
The new track follows their earlier 2025 collaboration “In My Head” with electronic producer Whethan (Charli XCX, Dua Lipa), continuing Phantogram’s evolution through vibrant experimentation and genre-blending soundscapes.
Partnered with Neon Gold Records, the duo released Memory Of A Day last year, joining the label’s lineage of alt-pop trailblazers including Charli XCX, HAIM, and Christine and the Queens.
Since their 2010 debut Eyelid Movies, Phantogram’s darkly cinematic blend of electronic pop, soul, and psychedelia has earned them over a billion streams, one platinum, and two gold-certified singles—cementing their place as boundary-pushers in modern alternative music.
