Naarm/Melbourne post-punk upstarts Radio Free Alice are closing out a whirlwind year with the release of their urgent new single, “Rule 31.” Fresh off a triumphant European run—capped by a sold-out Scala in London—the track captures the restless momentum the quartet have been riding worldwide.
Written during a soundcheck and built around a driving bassline, “Rule 31” was recorded at producer Peter Katis’sConnecticut studio during a brief break in their touring schedule. Its tense pulse and sharpened edges reflect the band’s rapid ascent, as venues grow larger and audiences increasingly pack in shoulder-to-shoulder.
That momentum continues into 2026: Radio Free Alice will join Geese for their sold-out February tour of Australia, with shows in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. More international dates are on the horizon as the band gears up for another year of relentless touring.
Their rise accelerated dramatically in 2025, when a UK return sparked six sold-out London headlines and a standout Reading & Leeds appearance, followed by a run of packed US shows including three nights in New York. With festival slots at Tramlines and Truck already on the books, and the acclaimed Empty Words EP still gaining steam, Radio Free Alice show no signs of slowing.
