Ty Segall & The Muggers are revisiting one of the wildest stretches of Segall mythology with a new live EP, “LIVE” “AT” “THE” “BBC,” arriving January 30. The release beams us straight back to early 2016, when Emotional Muggerfirst oozed into the world—an album of cracked neon energy, baby-mask theatrics, and some of the most gloriously unhinged songs Segall had ever stitched together.

Recorded during their Marc Riley session at the BBC—midway through a relentless run of shows—the EP captures a band operating like a single many-limbed creature. Segall leads the charge on vocals, freed from nightly guitar duty, while The Muggers (Cory Hanson, Evan Burrows, Emmett Kelly, Mikal Cronin, and Kyle Thomas) pile on the chaos with clattering precision and wonderfully warped backing vocals.

The set tears through four Emotional Mugger rippers plus a deranged, telescope-lens blast of The Doors’ “L.A. Woman.” It’s 19 minutes of sweat, nerves, and irreverence, sealed in a room that barely seems able to contain the band’s combustion.

And for vinyl fiends: the EP comes with a full music side and a flip-side etching of the infamous babyman mask.

Relive the mania when “LIVE” “AT” “THE” “BBC” drops January 30, 2026—and catch Segall on tour across the US and Australia next spring.
