Last Thursday evening, the legendary Gibson Los Angeles Showroom set the stage for Strike A Chord for Women’s Health—an exclusive gathering where music, advocacy, and science came together with a shared purpose: protecting the future of women’s health research.

Hosted by Gibson Gives, Women Who Rock, and Magee-Womens Research Institute, the event spotlighted an urgent reality—$2.5 billion in women’s health research was canceled in 2025 alone. Against this sobering backdrop, artists, industry leaders, and global health champions united to call for renewed investment in lifesaving discoveries for women everywhere.

The evening opened with a reception, followed by inspiring remarks from Melinda Colaizzi, Founder and CEO of Women Who Rock, on music’s power to fuel change. Legendary artist Sheila E. underscored the vital role artists play in advocacy, while Michael Annichine, CEO of Magee-Womens Research Institute, shared updates on groundbreaking work underway, including progress toward a future breast cancer vaccine. Beth Heidt, CMO of Gibson, reflected on Gibson’s long-standing commitment to social impact through music.

The program concluded with a moving acoustic performance by rising artist Alex Ritchie, reinforcing music’s ability to inspire action.

Strike a Chord for Women’s Health was more than an event—it was a movement, proving that when music and medicine unite, progress follows.
