Gibson Films, the storytelling studio from Gibson devoted to original, artist-driven content, has launched the worldwide premiere of Iommi: The Godfather of Heavy Metal. Volume One of the limited docuseries is streaming now—exclusively on Gibson TV—kicking off a year-long celebration that runs through 2026.

From the smokestacks of Birmingham to the world’s biggest stages, the series traces the life and legacy of Tony Iommi, the pioneering guitarist whose riffs and resolve forged heavy metal itself. Beginning with his working-class roots and the rise of Black Sabbath, Volume One explores how Iommi’s genre-defining sound reshaped rock, sparked a global movement, and inspired generations to pick up the guitar.

The premiere episode dives deep into Tony’s music history and towering influence with candid interviews from Iommi and a star-studded lineup of peers and disciples—Brian May, Slash, Zakk Wylde, Yungblud, Scott Ian, John 5, Phil Anselmo, and Blackie Lawless—alongside appearances by Tom Morello and Troy Van Leeuwen, plus firsthand accounts from Birmingham icons Rob Halford and Justin Broadrick.

Dark, defiant, and endlessly influential, Iommi’s legacy still reverberates across every corner of heavy music. Watch Volume One now, worldwide, only on Gibson TV.
