Classic ’90s-style indie rock is having a moment again, and 37 Houses are leaning all the way in. The band has announced their sophomore album, When and How It Happened, alongside a new single that captures the raw urgency of their evolving sound.
Long a musical journal of married duo Erin Sydney and Jeremy Rosenblum, 37 Houses began as a lockdown project and has since grown into an unfiltered chronicle of love, doubt, and devotion. Written over 18 months, the new record traces their attempt to navigate polyamory within a developing marriage—songs unfolding in real time, with no clear ending in sight.
From the aching tension of “Helium” to the apologetic opener “Shadow Puppets,” and the stark contrast between acoustic tracks “Unloveable” and “Love Song,” the album holds space for grief and unconditional love alike.
Recorded live in just four days in the Colorado mountains, amps cranked and imperfections intact, the album arrives May 8, 2026 on limited LP and digital—fierce, fragile, and unmistakably alive.
