Fans of Rick and Morty finally have a date to circle on the calendar. Season 9 officially premieres Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Adult Swim, with episodes also available to stream on Max. After years of dimension-hopping chaos, the upcoming season is being promoted as the beginning of a “new era” for the long-running animated sci-fi comedy.

In this season, the multiverse is becoming more unstable than ever before. Past decisions made by Rick appear to be creating dangerous ripple effects across multiple realities, forcing the Smith family to deal with consequences they can no longer escape with a quick portal jump. The new season is expected to raise the stakes while still delivering the bizarre humor and unpredictable storytelling fans expect from the series.

Season 9 will feature 10 episodes, following the same weekly Sunday night release pattern used for Season 8. The premiere episode is titled “There’s Something About Morty,” strongly suggesting that Morty’s character development and personal struggles will play a major role throughout the season.

Viewers in the United States can watch new episodes live on Adult Swim through cable providers or streaming services that carry the channel. Episodes will also stream on Max, while international audiences should expect regional streaming availability shortly after the U.S. premiere.
