The viral co-op horror hit from developer Fancy Games and publisher Secret Mode is available now, bringing its unsettling maze of liminal spaces to console players for the first time. Better yet, full cross-platform play is supported across Xbox, PS5, and PC, making it easier than ever to get lost with friends.
Inspired by the internet phenomenon, Escape the Backrooms drops players into a sprawling network of eerie environments, from the iconic yellow corridors to haunting pool rooms, abandoned hotels, and nightmare-fuel birthday party venues. Whether you’re venturing alone or teaming up with up to three friends, survival depends on finding exits, avoiding deadly entities, and keeping your sanity intact with the occasional sip of almond water.
Console players are also getting the complete experience, including all content released for the PC version since its Early Access debut in 2022. That means over 30 levels to explore, secret endings to uncover, Nightmare Mode for the truly brave, and bonus cosmetic items such as the Winter Wanderer and Chinese New Year packs.
