The end of the road is in sight for Cloud Strife and company.
During Summer Game Fest Live, Square Enix officially unveiled Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final chapter in the acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. The highly anticipated RPG will launch in Spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, marking the 30th anniversary year of the legendary original game.
REVELATION promises the biggest adventure yet. Players will explore the entire planet aboard the iconic Highwind airship, dropping into locations seamlessly from the skies as Cloud and his allies race to stop Meteor and prevent Sephiroth’s ascent to godhood.
The reveal trailer showcased a truly open world, featuring fan-favorite locations including Wutai, Mideel, and the frozen Northern Continent. New playable heroes Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind join the action, while the newly introduced FITS system lets players equip outfits inspired by classic Final Fantasy jobs to unlock fresh abilities and combat styles.
Square Enix is positioning REVELATION as the culmination of three decades of Final Fantasy VII storytelling—a finale packed with high-stakes battles, emotional decisions, and a planet hanging by a thread.
For longtime fans, the wait is almost over. For newcomers, there’s still time to catch up with FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE and FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH before the saga reaches its dramatic conclusion in Spring 2027.
One thing is clear: the fight for the planet is about to enter its final chapter.
