SEGA of America and RGG Studio brought a major surprise to Summer Game Fest 2026, unveiling legendary rapper and actor Tupac as part of the cast for the upcoming action-adventure title STRANGER THAN HEAVEN.
Joining the game as a character named Amaru, Tupac’s appearance has been developed in close collaboration with his estate, Amaru Entertainment. RGG Studio emphasized that the portrayal was created with respect for his legacy and without the use of AI, relying instead on archival footage and photographs.
The star-studded reveal didn’t stop there. RGG Studio Head Masayoshi Yokoyama took the stage to confirm that STRANGER THAN HEAVEN will launch worldwide on January 15, 2027, before being joined by Snoop Dogg and his son Cordell Broadus, who both play characters in the game.
Snoop Dogg is also contributing to the game’s official theme song alongside Satoshi Fujihara, Ado, and Tori Kelly, all of whom also appear in the cast. Additional newly announced cast members include Takashi Ukaji, Yasukaze Motomiya, Takaya Kuroda, and comedian Kohei Tsuji.
STRANGER THAN HEAVEN will be available on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, Steam, and PlayStation 5. Pre-orders are live now, with a limited Collector’s Edition featuring a 12-inch vinyl soundtrack, SteelBook case, bonus DLC, and exclusive artwork for dedicated fans.
With an ambitious cast, music industry heavyweights, and one of Summer Game Fest’s most talked-about reveals, STRANGER THAN HEAVEN is shaping up to be one of 2027’s biggest releases.
