Australian punk rock powerhouse C.O.F.F.I.N are back with a bang, unveiling their brand-new single “Sleep In It”, out now on streaming platforms worldwide. The track marks the band’s first new music since 2023’s Australia Stops and arrives alongside the announcement that they’ve officially signed with p(doom) records, the label home to King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and their extended creative family.
The Sydney Northern Beaches outfit—short for Children Of Finland Fighting In Norway—have spent the last two decades carving out a reputation as one of Australia’s most relentless and respected rock’n’roll acts. Now they’re kicking off a new chapter with “Sleep In It”, the first taste of their upcoming fourth studio album, Out In Oslo.
While the track still packs C.O.F.F.I.N’s trademark energy, it also reveals a surprising new side. Produced by Declan Mehrtens (Amyl and The Sniffers), “Sleep In It” features Beach Boys-inspired backing harmonies that add a fresh melodic twist to the band’s hard-hitting sound.
Speaking about the song, the band describe it as exploring “the consequence of a lopsided life and a longing for relationships with yourself and others to feel nourished and full.”
The accompanying video embraces that same left-field spirit, placing the band underwater alongside a cast of sea creatures in a quirky visual that perfectly complements the song’s sonic evolution.
