Country music fans are getting another remarkable gift from the Jennings family vault.

Four-time Grammy winner Shooter Jennings has announced Diamonds, a new album of previously unheard recordings by his legendary father, Waylon Jennings. The project follows last year’s acclaimed Songbird and continues Shooter’s mission to share long-lost gems discovered in Waylon’s personal archives.

Leading the release is the album’s title track, “Diamonds,” which arrived today alongside an official lyric video. The song carries an unexpected surprise: a guest appearance from the late Glen Campbell, who joined Waylon during a studio session in December 1978.

“This track eluded me,” Shooter said, explaining how he uncovered the recording across multiple archive sessions before realizing Campbell had stopped by the studio to help create what he now calls one of his favorite recordings his father ever made.

Set for release on November 13 in physical formats including LP, CD, cassette, and digital download, Diamonds will arrive on streaming platforms December 11 via Son of Jessi/Thirty Tigers.

According to Shooter, the album captures a different side of Waylon than fans heard on Songbird—a more energetic, youthful collection centered on love, heartbreak, and relationships. The project also features songs written by Jessi Colter and contributions from surviving members of The Waylors and harmonica legend Mickey Raphael.

For fans who thought they’d heard everything from Waylon Jennings, Diamonds proves there are still treasures waiting to be discovered.
