Alternative rock legends SUGAR are keeping their long-awaited comeback rolling with the release of their new single, “Keep Looping.” The track follows recent reunion releases “House of Dead Memories” and “Long Live Love” — the first new music from the band in more than 30 years.

Led by Bob Mould alongside bassist David Barbe and drummer Malcolm Travis, SUGAR bring plenty of bite to the new song. Inspired in part by the growing influence of AI, Mould describes “Keep Looping” as a sharper, more aggressive track that questions society’s relationship with technology. “The new song has more snarl,” he says, pointing to lyrics that tackle dopamine-driven cycles and the “constant hum of the Lie.”

Barbe is equally enthusiastic, calling it his favorite of the trio’s recent songs. “This song gets stuck in my brain quite a bit,” he says, praising its intense riff and soaring bridge.

The release arrives as SUGAR prepare to launch the U.S. leg of their Love You Even Still World Tour on August 11 in Denver. The 24-date run includes multiple sold-out shows in Minneapolis and Philadelphia, plus stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and more. Adding to the good news, a portion of every ticket sold will be donated to The Trevor Project, supporting LGBTQ+ youth crisis intervention and suicide prevention services.

Fans attending the tour will also have access to a limited-edition colored vinyl 7” featuring “House of Dead Memories” and “Long Live Love,” available exclusively at shows.

After three decades away, SUGAR’s reunion is proving more than a nostalgia trip. With fresh songs, packed venues, and fully engaged crowds, the band sounds as energized as ever — and “Keep Looping” is further proof that some things are worth the wait.
