Lucasfilm is turning one of Star Wars: Visions’s most beloved stories into a full anime event — and it looks like the Force has plenty more surprises left.
The new limited series Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi picks up Kara’s journey as she searches for her missing father while staying one step ahead of deadly Jedi Hunters. In a galaxy where both the Jedi and Sith have vanished, the Force hasn’t disappeared — it’s simply waiting for people brave enough to follow it.
The trailer, unveiled at Anime Expo 2026, teases a darker, more dangerous mission and expands the story that began with the fan-favorite “The Ninth Jedi” short from Star Wars: Visions Volume 1. Fans also saw the saga continue in “The Ninth Jedi – Child of Hope” from Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
Produced by Production I.G, the series asks a simple but intriguing question: Does the Force actually guide you?
Whether you’re a longtime Star Wars fan or an anime newcomer, this looks like one of the franchise’s boldest experiments yet.
Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi premieres August 5 on Disney+ and Hulu.
