If your co-op squad has been looking for its next nightmare, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu just answered the call.

NACON and ACE Team have launched the new four-player co-op horror adventure today on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, complete with full crossplay support. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s The Mound, the game drops players into the Conquistador era and sends them deep into an uncharted jungle in search of a legendary city said to contain unimaginable riches.

Of course, the treasure hunt doesn’t stay simple for long.

The jungle is packed with hostile creatures, but the real threat is your own sanity. As expeditions drag on, reality begins to fracture: players experience visual and auditory hallucinations that can disrupt teamwork, communication, and survival. Worse still, fallen teammates can return corrupted and turn against the rest of the squad.

The setup is tailor-made for tense multiplayer sessions. Teams choose contracts before heading into the jungle, scavenge resources, and try to extract alive. Proximity voice chat makes staying together crucial, while limited ammunition and fragile period-accurate weapons such as bows, crossbows, and arquebuses keep every encounter feeling desperate.

At launch, The Mound features 18 handcrafted maps and four playable characters, with more to come later. Players can tackle the expedition solo or with up to three friends.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is available now digitally on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A physical edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S arrives on August 6.
