The award-winning A Plague Tale series is heading somewhere even darker.
Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio have revealed a gripping new story trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, offering a closer look at Sophia’s dangerous journey from Venice to the mysterious depths of Minotaur Island. The game launches August 27 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
After a heist goes horribly wrong, Sophia finds herself on the run with her companion Leni. Her escape leads straight into the ruins of an ancient civilization—and toward secrets buried beneath the legends surrounding the island.
Fans can expect the series’ signature blend of atmospheric exploration, tense combat and creeping horror. Sophia is agile and deadly, wielding a chain sword, dagger and a range of combat moves as she battles forces determined to stop her. But on Minotaur Island, staying alive may be only half the challenge.
Most intriguingly, Resonance promises to dig into Sophia’s early years while uncovering the truth behind legendary myths and the origins of the Macula.
Ahead of launch, Focus Entertainment is also rolling out behind-the-scenes videos covering the game’s environments, combat, enemies, light-based exploration and Sophia herself.
And if you’re heading to Gamescom, you’ll be able to play Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy in person at both the Focus Entertainment and Xbox booths.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launches August 27, 2026, and is available to pre-order now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass with Xbox Play Anywhere support.
