What does it take to build a championship hockey team—and what happens when the players chasing that dream are still teenagers?
Prime Video is answering that question with Hometown Giants, a new six-part Canadian docuseries following the Vancouver Giants through the 2025–26 season. The series premieres Friday, October 16, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
The series gives viewers an inside look at the Western Hockey League franchise, with part-owners Michael Bublé and Drew Scott working to turn around a team that hasn’t won a championship since 2007. New leadership, major trades, roster changes and plenty of pressure make for a season where every decision matters.
But Hometown Giants isn’t just about what’s happening on the ice.
These players are teenagers balancing major junior hockey with high school, friendships, first relationships and the enormous pressure of chasing an NHL dream. Some are just getting their first taste of major junior competition, while veterans are fighting to prove they belong.
A brutal 15-day road trip, looming trade deadline and injuries add even more pressure. Among those facing the spotlight is top prospect Ryan Lin, while Torretto Marrelli fights to keep his place on the roster.
With access to players, families, coaches and owners, Hometown Giants promises a behind-the-scenes look at the reality of major junior hockey—where championship dreams, personal growth and the next chapter of a young player’s life all collide.
