Think you’ve got what it takes to survive the Weird West? Guns of Eschaton would like to see you try.
The Western FPS Soulslike from Eschatology Entertainment and publisher 4Divinity has released its demo on Steam, giving players a chance to step into its grim, apocalyptic take on 19th-century Americana ahead of October’s Steam Next Fest.
You play a mysterious gunslinger wandering the Hound’s Path, where ammunition is limited, enemies are unforgiving, and death is very much part of the learning process. The catch? Pulling the trigger isn’t always the best move. Knowing when not to shoot could be just as important.
Your arsenal includes historically inspired firearms, specialized ammunition, timed parries, occult powers, talismans, and consumables. There’s also a Codex that can reveal enemy weaknesses—assuming you survive long enough to put that information to use.
The demo is available now and will remain playable throughout Steam Next Fest, October 19–26.
So, saddle up, load your weapon, and prepare to die. Probably more than once.
