Your home is getting a tech upgrade. LG Electronics and Apple have announced seven smart home accessories developed together for the Apple Home Collection, bringing security, comfort and convenience under one connected roof.
The lineup includes indoor and outdoor cameras, a wired video doorbell, a smart deadbolt lock, a smart thermostat and a temperature sensor. The goal? Make smart home technology work together more naturally, with control through Apple’s Home app, Siri and LG’s ThinQ app.
Security Meets Convenience
The new cameras offer up to 2.5K resolution, color night vision and intelligent detection for people, pets, vehicles and movement. The wired video doorbell adds dual cameras to capture visitors and packages, while two-way audio lets homeowners respond from a distance.
There’s also a smart deadbolt with hands-free unlocking for compatible iPhones and Apple Watches, plus PIN, NFC and physical-key access options.

A Home That Thinks Ahead
Comfort gets an upgrade, too. LG’s smart thermostat can adjust heating and cooling around daily routines, while optional temperature sensors help monitor conditions in different rooms. In the U.S., supported features can also help households make energy-conscious choices and shift heating or cooling toward lower-cost periods.
The bigger story is how these devices work together. A single “Good Morning” command, for example, can adjust the thermostat and reposition an indoor camera through a coordinated smart home scene.
Privacy Still Matters
With cameras and connected devices inside the home, privacy is a major consideration. LG and Apple say the accessories use end-to-end encryption in Apple Home, with camera footage and personal data inaccessible to either company.
When Can You Get Them?
The new collection is scheduled to begin arriving in the U.S. and Canada in December, with select accessories following early next year. Indoor and outdoor cameras and the video doorbell are also scheduled for a December launch in the U.K.
The bottom line: This partnership goes beyond putting a few more gadgets on the market. By combining LG’s home technology expertise with Apple’s connected ecosystem, the companies are aiming to make smart homes simpler to manage—and a little less work to live in.
