One of 2022’s biggest horror surprises is getting the 4K treatment. 20th Century Studios, in association with Disney, is bringing Zach Cregger’s Barbarian to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on October 24, 2026, complete with behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes, and director commentary.
Starring Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgård, and Justin Long, Barbarian follows a woman who arrives at her Detroit rental home to discover it has been double-booked—and a stranger is already inside. What begins as an uncomfortable late-night mix-up quickly spirals into something far more disturbing.
Released in September 2022, the film topped the domestic box office in its opening weekend, winning over audiences with its shocking twists, brutal violence, and darkly subversive humor. It later took home Best Horror Movie at the Critics Choice Super Awards.
The upcoming home release includes two discs of bonus content. The 4K UHD disc features an HDR presentation and audio commentary from writer-director Zach Cregger and producer Roy Lee. The standard Blu-ray adds the Behind Barbarian featurette, interviews and insights from the cast and crew, deleted scenes, and the same audio commentary.
The release also includes optional English SDH, Spanish, and French subtitles.
For collectors and horror fans, this is a chance to revisit one of the decade’s most unpredictable genre releases in 4K—or discover why going into Barbarian knowing as little as possible became part of the experience.
