Greenville’s visionary power trio, Auralayer, is treating fans to an exclusive stream of their raucous debut album, “Thousand Petals,” ahead of its official release. This impressive album combines powerful doom riffs, kinetic progressive rock drums, and electrifying pop-inspired melodies, resulting in a captivating and undeniably catchy sound.
Drawing from their diverse musical interests, the band members bring together influences ranging from doom and progressive rock to pop music. This eclectic mix allows Auralayer to break free from typical genre clichés and create a refreshing, original metal sound.
To capture their energetic vision, Auralayer enlisted the expertise of Philip Cope, founder of experimental metal band Kylesa, to engineer, mix, and master the album at Jam Room Recording Studio. Cope’s experience and attention to detail helped shape the band’s diverse influences into a cohesive sonic palette, as he did with their 2021 EP, “Solar Plexus.”
Inspired not only by music but also by artistic and philosophical sources, Auralayer’s “Thousand Petals” takes its name from the Sahasrara padma, symbolizing supreme consciousness and enlightenment. This album builds on the success of their original demo EP, “Solar Plexus,” which showcased their affinity for Eastern cultures and the Chakra Manipura.
Prepare to be captivated by Auralayer’s unique metal sound as they unleash the sharpened and honed tracks from their demo EP, now fully realized on “Thousand Petals.”
Thousand Petals will be available on LP, CD and download on July 14th, 2023 via King Volume Records. Pre-orders are available here.
