The new Supergirl teaser wastes no time signaling that Kara Zor-El is getting a bold remix for the DCU. Instead of the hopeful, clean-cut cousin of Superman we’ve seen before, this version leans into a scrappier, cosmic-drifter vibe. Kara isn’t posing for Metropolis billboards — she’s drinking in alien dive bars, planet-hopping with attitude, and rocking a punk-grunge look that screams “party girl in space.”
Blondie’s “Call Me” blasts over flashes of zero-G brawls, neon worlds, and chaotic bar fights, giving the footage a Guardians-style rock-opera swagger. Beneath the style, though, the story setup is darker: Kara grew up in harsher conditions than Clark, and the teaser frames her as someone drifting through the galaxy, trying (and failing) not to care. That changes when a brutal threat pushes her into an interstellar quest for vengeance and justice.
Milly Alcock shines in quick bursts of sardonic humor, rage, and vulnerability. We also glimpse Jason Momoa’s anarchic Lobo, young companion Ruthye, and Matthias Schoenaerts’ Krem, the villain Kara is hunting.
With Craig Gillespie directing and a June 26, 2026 release date, Supergirl looks poised to be the edgier soul of the new DCU.
