Independent studio Dusty Box has unveiled its debut title, Cult of Blood, a brutal survival horror adventure inspired by a true story and twisted with dark magic. The game’s haunting trailer reveals a fog-drenched village ruled by a blood cult—where every step drags you closer to salvation or to becoming the final sacrifice in a priestess’s ritual of ascension.
Blending cinematic storytelling with desperate combat and scarce resources, Cult of Blood channels the suffocating dread of Resident Evil through fixed camera angles, tank-style controls, and modern refinements for dodging and aiming. Players will scavenge supplies, battle grotesque enemies, and harvest blood souls to upgrade weapons or unlock new gear.
The story follows a lone police officer investigating eerie reports in a forgotten village cut off from the world. What begins as routine quickly spirals into madness as he uncovers a cult worshipping a priestess who seeks to ascend as a goddess. The villagers—humans stripped of their souls—serve her in eternal bondage.
“With Cult of Blood, we wanted to revive the suffocating tension of classic survival horror,” said Dusty Box co-founder Angelo Axiotis. “This isn’t just survival—it’s a descent into a nightmare.”
Cult of Blood launches next year on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Wishlist now on Steam.
