Acetone will release I’ve Enjoyed As Much of This As I Can Stand – Live At The Knitting Factory, NYC: May 31, 1998 on April 20, 2024 in celebration of Record Store Day. The previously unreleased 15-song set was recorded on the final night of Acetone’s 1998 tour in New York City and finds the band in peak form. The trio pulled from all corners of their catalog in a nearly 90 minute set that veers from serenity to recklessness, culminating in an epic 13-minute medley of the Acetone song “I’m Gone,” the legendary “Misirlou,” and Pink Floyd’s “Interstellar Overdrive” that should put to eternal rest the notion that this was a “slowcore” band.

Recorded live on 16-Track ADAT, the performance was mixed by longtime Acetone engineer Scott Campbell in late 2023 and supervised by the surviving members of Acetone, Mark Lightcap and Steve Hadley. The double LP set was mastered by John Baldwin of Infrasonic Sound at RCA Studio A in Nashville, TN with lacquers being cut at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, UK. The live album will be released in a limited edition of 2,000 on clear vinyl housed in a reflective gatefold jacket.

The band’s first ever live album follows last year’s career-spanning 11-LP box set I’m still waiting. Met with widespread critical acclaim, the collection was named a “Best Box Set of 2023” by SPIN, Uncut Magazine, Aquarium Drunkard, Brooklyn Vegan, American Songwriter, and more. Pitchfork awarded the collection a 9.0 “Best New Reissue” rating, calling it an “essential box set” while David Fricke called it a “monument they’ve long deserved” in his 4/5 Star Review for Mojo magazine. Under the Radar said it was “clearly one of the finest reissues of late 2023” in their 9/10 star review, and GQ called it a “comprehensive and stunning experience that preaches to the unconverted masses,” calling Acetone “the greatest ‘90s rock band you’ve (probably) never heard.”
