Austin’s own American Sharks are back with a vengeance, unleashing their thunderous new single “Bang Yer Head,” the first taste of their long-awaited album Not Dead Yet. Marking their first release in six years, the track is a full-throttle anthem for heavy music lifers, complete with a blistering guest guitar solo from GWAR’s Balsac. It’s loud, defiant, and unmistakably Sharks.
Blending punk urgency with metal muscle, the trio delivers a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh—hook-driven, riff-heavy, and built for singalongs. “Bang Yer Head” sets the tone for Not Dead Yet, a nine-track burst of energy that captures the band’s raw spirit after years away.
To celebrate the release, American Sharks will hit the road this spring as main support for Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol on a full U.S. tour running April through May. The live setting has always been their natural habitat, and this run promises chaos in the best way.
