Apple TV+ has announced that its new documentary series “Omnivore” will premiere globally on July 19, 2024, and they’ve shared a sneak peek to get everyone excited.

Created and narrated by renowned chef René Redzepi of Noma fame, “Omnivore” dives deep into the world of food, highlighting the beauty and complexity of our shared culinary experiences. The series focuses on eight essential ingredients—bananas, chilies, coffee, corn, pork, rice, salt, and tuna—and how they’ve become pillars of global cultural heritage.

With episodes that journey through places like Denmark, Serbia, Thailand, Spain, Japan, Djibouti, Peru, South Korea, France, Colombia, India, Bali, Rwanda, Mexico, and various spots in the U.S., Redzepi, along with Emmy-winning producer Matt Goulding, unearths the fascinating stories behind these ingredients. They explore how these foods have shaped societies, cultures, and even history, all while showcasing local efforts to honor and protect these vital resources.
