Apple TV is turning up the tension this fall with Nocturne, a new crime drama starring Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham.

Based on Lars Kepler’s internationally bestselling crime novel The Sandman, the 10-episode series follows Jonah Lynn (Schreiber), a former soldier turned homicide detective who leaves Philadelphia hoping for a quieter life in small-town Pennsylvania. That plan doesn’t last long.

When a ruthless serial killer named Jurek Walter (Graham) begins targeting the town—and Jonah’s family—his new life quickly becomes a nightmare. The investigation takes an even more personal turn when Jonah sends his surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Beetz), into the hunt for Jurek’s final missing victim.

Created for television by BAFTA Award winner Rowan Joffé and developed by John Hlavin, Nocturne promises a dark mix of crime, suspense and family drama.

The series also features Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr.

Nocturne premieres globally on Friday, October 30, 2026, with its first two episodes. New episodes will follow every Friday through December 25, exclusively on Apple TV.

Based on the trailer, this one looks like a particularly tense addition to the fall crime-drama lineup.
