Phoenix shoegaze band Glixen are ecstatic to share their new single “foreversoon,” out now via AWAL. Glixen have grown leaps and bounds on their first offering since last year’s EP She Only Said, which came out on the tastemaking Philadelphia-based record label, Julia’s War – “foreversoon” is a prime showcase for the band’s intoxicating mix of fuzzed-out melodic guitars and tender vocals. The band is set to tour around the US until late next month alongside Softcult, Glitterer, and fish narc while also hitting festivals like SXSW and Treefort Music Fest.

“‘foreversoon’ represents blissful moments of new love and intimacy,” says lead vocalist Aislinn Ritchie. “The song harnesses melancholy chords, layered with fuzzy red melodies and gliding guitars that pull you in deeper. I wanted my lyrics to feel like a conversation that expresses my infatuation and sensuality. Time is relentless and memories are fleeting, this song encapsulates those emotions forever.”

Today’s release marks a new chapter for the band, entering into a heavier sound as they share a preview of their sophomore EP, due for release this year. After performing around the country opening for everyone from Hotline TNT to Cowgirl Clue to Narrow Head, it feels as if Glixen has come into their own on “foreversoon.”

Glixen will be on the road this spring supporting Interpol, Softcult, Glitterer, and fish narc, hitting major markets like New York and Chicago before making their back to the American Southwest. They’ll also be appearing at major U.S. festivals like SXSW and Treefort after performing at Nothing.’s Silde Away Festival in Philadelphia on Saturday, March 9.
