Arlo Parks steps into a new sonic world with “Heaven,” the latest single from her forthcoming album Ambiguous Desire, out April 3 via Transgressive Records. Premiered alongside a Zane Lowe interview, the track marks a bold shift for the two-time Grammy nominee, Mercury Prize winner, and BRIT Award recipient.
Driven by a pulsing techno bassline, “Heaven” channels the energy of underground rave culture, inspired by an early-morning DJ set from Kelly Lee Owens under a Los Angeles bridge. Parks leans into her love of electronic dance music, crafting a euphoric anthem about connection, presence, and losing yourself in the collective rhythm of the night. She describes it as an attempt to capture the “magic beyond language” found in shared dancefloor experiences.
The single follows “2SIDED,” already hailed as her most confident work yet and a major radio favorite. Across Ambiguous Desire, Parks trades live-band foundations for modular synths, samplers, and club-driven textures, influenced by Paradise Garage, Burial, LCD Soundsystem, and Theo Parrish.
Created with producer Baird between New York nightlife and reflective studio sessions, the album promises Parks’ most experimental, vulnerable, and dancefloor-ready chapter to date.
