After earning a Very Positive rating on Steam following its 2025 PC launch, ASYLUM is officially making its way to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch later this year. Publisher SOEDESCO and developer Senscape are bringing the chilling supernatural horror adventure to console players, inviting them to uncover the dark secrets lurking inside the infamous Hanwell Mental Institute.
Inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft, classic Hammer horror, and European horror cinema of the 1980s, ASYLUM puts players in the shoes of a former patient plagued by disturbing visions. Exploring the crumbling halls of the abandoned institution, they’ll unravel a sinister mystery through immersive storytelling, clever environmental details, and plenty of unsettling discoveries.
Rather than relying on relentless jump scares, ASYLUM takes a more atmospheric approach. Expect around 10 hours of exploration, challenging puzzles, and a haunting soundtrack influenced by legendary horror composer John Carpenter, all wrapped in a tense narrative that has been 15 years in the making.
If you’re a fan of psychological horror that values suspense over cheap thrills, ASYLUM looks set to be one of the year’s most intriguing horror releases on console.
