Beck Zegans is stepping into the spotlight with Engraving Of Armor, her striking debut album, released today through Exploding In Sound. Alongside the record comes the dreamy, shadow-soaked video for “Record Tamer,” directed by Elizabeth Kroner and starring aerial artist Eleanor Green.
Filmed inside Greenpoint’s Cosmic Fit Club, the clip feels equal parts underground performance art and fever dream, complete with fog machines, handheld tape cameras, and glowing forest props.
Much of Engraving Of Armor was shaped during lockdown, when Zegans leaned into heavier music and sharper honesty in her songwriting. Co-produced with bandmates Alex MacKay and Julian Fader, the record pulses with restless guitars, meditative rhythms, and raw vulnerability.
Zegans celebrates the release with a May 29 show at Union Pool in Brooklyn.
